About us
"If no one else is doing this, should we?"
The answer was yes. Co-founders Cindy and Bonnie Voortman — a paramedic and a nurse — saw a glaring gap between homelessness and healthcare, and built the model that didn't exist.

The gap
Unhoused people were arriving at the ER with more advanced disease and infections — and staying longer — than those who were housed.
The search
Big cities had street medicine programs. No one had a model for a suburban community like ours.
The answer
On The Spot Aid launched to bring assessments, treatment, education and supplies to the places people live.
Today
20+ volunteers and 250+ donors power care across Port Charlotte and South Sarasota County.
